While in the pandemic we utilized multiple methods of video contribution to bring remote guests into our broadcast. This included sending production gear out to several remote sites to allow them to broadcast back to be a part of our online experiences.
While we often would often send a comms feed to our talent on-site to allow the producer to talk to them, the latency between audio returns or video feeds would cause a slight delay before the on-site talent would know they were “on-air”. This delay could be up to 1-2 seconds.
